Zeta Voice Reader
Talk to your AI instead of typing. It reads replies aloud and listens for your voice, hands-free.
Zeta Voice Reader turns the Muse web chat into a voice conversation. Instead of typing, you talk. Instead of reading, you listen. It reads the assistant's replies out loud, then starts listening for your answer, so the conversation flows without touching the keyboard.
It was built for real hands-free use. The mic stays open while you think. It never reads your own messages back to you. And it pauses listening while the assistant is speaking, so it never transcribes itself.
Features
- Reads the assistant's replies aloud automatically, starts listening when a reply finishes
- Continuous listening: talk across pauses without pressing anything again
- Natural-pause auto-send: your message sends after a short silence (you set the delay, default 1.2 seconds)
- Push-to-talk: hold X outside the chat box to dictate, release to stop
- Pick the reading voice, pitch control (0 to 2), speed control (0.5x to 2x)
- Sentence highlighting as it is read, per-message replay buttons
- Stop anytime (button or Esc), skip by sentence (Alt+Left / Alt+Right)
- Draggable panel that remembers its position; every setting saved between sessions
- Voice recognition built into Chrome, free, no account needed
Setup
- Download and unzip the extension file below.
- In Chrome, open chrome://extensions.
- Turn on Developer mode (top right).
- Click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
- Open the Muse web chat and click the speaker button once so the page may play audio. After that it is automatic.
Privacy
Reading aloud happens entirely on your computer using installed voices. Voice typing uses Chrome's built-in recognition (audio goes to Google for transcription, needs internet). The extension requests only storage and web-page access permissions.
